ILLAMASQUA CREAM AND POWDER BLUSHER COLLECTION | SWATCHES & GIVEAWAY

Illamasqua are my all time favourite makeup brand and occupy the largest space in my collection. I now own a fair few of their blushers in both their cream and powder formulas and thought I would do a little post on my collection in case you were planning on buying any and wanted a bit of extra information regarding colours and formulas. Also there's a bit of a giveaway at the end of this post so keep reading.

(Dixie, Braze, Rude, Zygomatic)

We'll start with their cream formula; these are true cream blushes, no cream to powder business here. They're super creamy and not at all tacky as I find can be with the case with many true cream blushes, such as the Stila Convertible Colours (not that I'm bashing those at all, I really love them for different reasons.)

They apply equally as nicely with your fingers as with a brush. If you are planning on using a brush, i would highly recommend the Real Techniques buffing brush, or their expert face brush.

The blushers are very pigmented but also very blendable, so it's hard to go wrong despite their high colour pay off.

They are also great to use as lip colour too as they're just the right amount of creamy to avoid drying out lips, but not the type of creamy that's going to slide straight off your lips. Brazen in particular stains so if you are going to use these on your lips, it's a great on for a night out, to use under a red lip so that when the lipstick fades, you still have a red stain underneath meaning that you're not going to have that awful ring of colour around your lips as the lipstick wears.

Back to their intended use on the cheeks now; being a cream formula, they don't last quite as long as powder but you still get a good few hours of colour out of them before they begin to fade, and as you can apply them with your fingers, they are easy enough to pop in your bag to top up when the colour starts to fade.

They apply nicely over foundation and don't move it at all and at £22.00, they're fairly reasonably priced for the amount of use you get from them due to needed such a small amount for each application.

Dixie (left) is a pretty coral shade and just like the other shades has a really pretty dewy finish to it. It's a lovely one for summer especially.

Brazen is a true red, with cool undertones. It looks very bright and scary in the pan and when swatched but when blended it creates a perfect Snow White type look and looks especially gorgeous on pale skin during the winter for a natural, pinched cheeks look.

Rude is my favourite of all the cream blushes I own. It's a peachy pink and is another lovely one for the summer.

Zygomatic (right) is a very nude colour with brown undertones. As it's so neutral it's great for paring with bold eyes and/or lips just to add a bit of something to the face without detracting attention from the main event.

(Hussy, Tremble, Lover)

We've reached the powder blushers now, and again, they're a lovely formula. They're powder without looking powdery, are very pigmented and soft and very blendable.

They last all day and again, don't interfere with base makeup already on your skin.

The shades also all have a matte finish.

Hussy (left) is a bright candy pink.

Tremble is a stunning pale peachy pink, although the website pins it as a lilac pink; I can't quite see where the lilac element comes from.

Finally is Lover, which is my favourite of the powder shades I own, it's an apricot orange and looks gorgeous as part of a bronzed look.

At last we have reached the end of my collection, I do keep considering expanding, however there an no other shades which stand out to me at present. It's worth noting that there is a sale on at the moment on the Illamasqua website where you can pick up some of these shades for £6.60, so if ever there was a perfect time to try them out, it would be now.

Now onto the giveaway;

I will be giving away a Cream Blusher in Dixie, the giveaway will run for a month. The giveaway will be for the UK only due to postage charges, apologies international readers.
