H A P P Y N E W Y E A R .

So, another year has passed and a lot of bloggers have been doing these round up type posts. Here's mine, with a bit of a difference.

2015 saw my blogging routine take a bit of a nosedive; what can I say, life got in the way. It makes little sense for me to do a blog related summary of the year for this reason, so I've decided to do a bit of a life round up instead.

The year just gone has been an eventful and uneventful one all at once. I left uni, although I will be returning in February for one final exam, and I started a new job, my first full time one. Professionally, the year has been strong.

Personally, things have been less consistent and although I'm not one to moan to the internet, in the spirit of a new, more personal and open approach to my blogging in 2016, I will divulge a little.

2015 saw me lose my wonderful Grandad. I went into it briefly in my last post as part of my explanation into my absence, but I have since removed all of my previous posts to start my blog with a clean slate. In short, my Grandad had battled cancer on and off for the best part of the last decade and after putting up one hell of a fight, it was time to go. I'm grateful for all the fight he put in which enabled us to have the time with him that we did and I doubt I'll ever meet a stronger, more brave man than him.

The latter part of the year also saw me involved in a car accident and the after effects have been difficult to deal with to say the least. I have started the year less physically and mentally healthy than I would have liked to, but I'm hoping that as time goes by, this will continue to improve.

It hasn't all been doom and gloom though, and this year has been a good one for me in the relationship department. 2015 saw me carry my relationship into its second year. The support he has given me throughout the less happy moments of my year is so appreciated. I feel very fortunate to have met such an amazing man and I'm looking forward to seeing where 2016 takes us.

While there have been a number of other events throughout 2015, both good and bad, that vary in significance, I feel it best to leave it there, before we enter 2017 with this rapidly growing list.

In terms of this year, there are bound to be just as many ups and downs as 2015; some planned and some not.

In terms of the things that are planned, July 16th will see two of my friends marry each other, and I am very happy to have been asked to be Maid of Honour.

2016 will also see me and Ash spend a lot of time apart, and while this will be difficult, I am so pleased for him that he gets to live his dream of touring countries near and far with his band, and so proud of him for working so hard to make it happen.

I plan to buy my own place this year, after a few setbacks in 2015, and in the time that Ash isn't on tour, I'm very much looking forward to us living together; picking out carpets and tins of paint like real adults. And cats, picking out cats, too.

I also hope to progress in my career, and to pass my final university exam.

In relation to my blog, I will be knuckling down. I have purchased a new layout and have bought a new domain just this evening. In short, I am ready to rebrand and grow my blog, and Youtube channel, this year and this will be done under the new name of 'Life of Laura'. Changes to be implemented imminently.

So with that, I shall see you on the other side of the rebrand. I hope you all have a wonderful 2016.
